What to expect from treatment
When you first start using a topical treatment, you may notice your skin becoming flaky and slightly swollen. The treatments can also make your skin feel dry and tight as well as give you a burning, itching or stinging sensation. If you experience the above reaction, please do not worry, this is a normal response when starting treatment. To allow your skin to get used to your treatment, we recommend sticking to a simple skincare routine and applying a small amount at first to build up your tolerance. It's also OK to take rest days from treatment in between, before building up gradually to daily use. Applying a small amount of moisturiser to the skin before applying treatment, and after, can also help reduce side effects while still delivering the same great results.
What if I have acne and hyperpigmentation?
We recommend treating the acne first. Often, hyperpigmentation is caused by the dark spots that acne leaves behind, also known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Until the cause of the hyperpigmentation is addressed, the dark marks will continue to occur. The good news is, many of the products used in the treatment of acne also treat hyperpigmentation, so your formula will likely be treating both conditions at the same time.
